Appointment of Tenure Track Faculty

STEP WHEN? WHO? WHAT? HOW?
1. late spring Unit Head requests authorization to search electronic proposal to Dean
2. summer Dean authorizes search electronic notification from Dean's Office
3. late summer Unit Head constitutes search committee (which should be diverse and should include one member from outside the hiring unit) select or appoint according to department governance statement
4. late summer Unit Head and committee draft outside advertisement and seek approval from Associate Dean electronic communication
5. summer/early fall Unit HR Person Submits JDExpert Requisition JDEXpert Information --Note: Hiring Manager is the Executive Officer. Hiring Manager cannot be a member of the search committee. For College HR and Dean approval Karen Sholeen should be listed as the individual to whom the requisition should route. The job summary is NOT the job advertisement. JDExpert Application
6. early fall Unit/ HR person Once the JDExpert item has been approved, units will need to initiate the Cornerstone item. Cornerstone information, Cornerstone Application NOTE: The Cornerstone item MUST route through the college before routing to OAE. Units should indicate Karen Sholeen as the Cornerstone college approver. DO NOT indicate a specific individual for the OAE approver choose Approver OAE. Committee members (odd number) need to be listed as reviewers and interviewers. Upload outside advertisements and ad venues. Update the external and internal job posting items. Submit for College and OAE approvals.
7. fall OAE OAE approves Cornerstone item. Item posts to External and Internal Job Boards. Department can post to outside venues. through Cornerstone
8. fall Unit HR Contact places notice on department website, in newsletters and on websites of professional organizations and other venues electronic/hard copy
